Decking Cleaning

wooden surfaces need very different cleaning techniques to stone, rendering and brickwork.

A gentle pressure is applied first to all wood surfaces using anĀ  environmentally safe cleaning solutions to remove harmful contaminants including dirt, grease, algae, mildew, and mould. If present, more aggressive biological agents can be removed using a concentrated disinfectant that will also protect against future regrowth.

The decking can then be re-sanded if it is sufficiently robust, or the old surface varnish or stain can be removed with a special solvent if necessary. Any rotted or damaged sections can be repaired and the surface prepared for sealing.

It is important to reseal the decking after it has been deep cleaned which will add a waterproof layer and provide extra protection from mildew. mould or fungal regrowth.
